Technical Support Associate

Job Summary

We currently have a career opportunity at our corporate office located in Nipomo, California. In this role you will be responsible for providing technical service and support to our customers whom we serve by providing accurate, friendly support for any/all computer related concerns. Our main focus is on our dealer management software, we also assist our customers with any computer related issue that may come about. The customer expects us to communicate with them in a clear and professional manner.

Job Responsibilities

Work within the framework of a team involving day-to-day activities including: learning new software systems, basic computer technical support, fielding customer support calls, research and problem resolution, documention of support issues, customer follow up with on-going issues, and coordination of support issues with appropriate staff. Although we make every effort to solve each issue upon initial contact with the customer, this cannot always happen. If an issue requires further investigation or additional information, not available at the time of the call, effective research and a call back may be required. Prompt follow-up on promised call-back is mandatory.

Basic Qualifications

This position requires a variety of skills including effective administration, training, communication, self-motivation, excellent inter-personal skills, reliability, excellent phone etiquette, time management and unquestionable work ethics. Must have basic knowledge of networking and sharing resources over a network.

Requires the ability to do a “walk-thru” for mapping a network drive, and setting up network printers as an everyday occurrence. Knowledge of Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, and Vista networking is extremely helpful.
An understanding of DOS and databases (in general) is very helpful, but not required.

Counterman DMS Software is database reliant, so knowledge of basic use and manipulation of general databases is very helpful.

Some programming skills are very helpful which will assist in the understanding of programming “loops” and “processes”. The better the program is understood, the better we are able to help out customers. Knowledge of Counterman Pro not a requirement, but very helpful. We will teach you the intricacies of the software.

Limited out of area travel is a possibility, as we sometimes travel to expos and customer sites for support, training.
